Mirza started playing tennis at the age of 6 and was coached by her father, Mohamed Mirza. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the sport and began competing in junior tournaments. In 2003, she won her first ITF junior title in Jakarta, Indonesia, and went on to win several more junior titles throughout her career.

Early Life and Career

Mirza turned pro in 2003 and quickly made a name for herself on the WTA tour. She won her first WTA title in 2004 at the Bangalore Open, becoming the first Indian woman to win a WTA title.
